The Sr. Director, Reputation Management and Response is responsible for protecting the St. Jude brand by identifying, monitoring and responding to issues that could impact St. Jude’s reputation and providing visibility into news and events to help advance business strategy for the enterprise. This individual leads a team that oversees all functions related to issues and reputation management including response strategies designed to protect the St. Jude brand. The individual and team also collect, integrate, analyze, and report data and business information into actionable intelligence for the enterprise. The Sr. Director, Reputation Management and Response is a key partner across the enterprise in delivering an informed perspective on the external environment and issues and opportunities that emanate from or ladder to the organizational business strategy.
- Requires knowledge ordinarily acquired through a bachelor's degree in disciplines ideally including public relations, journalism, communications or related discipline. A Master’s Degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years in strategic or corporate communications, public relations or a similar field with a strong understanding of the business needs and competitive challenges in the industry.
- A seasoned manager with proven track record in creating results-oriented communications programs with a minimum of 3 years in management and leadership roles at previous organizations.
- Experience in communications strategy, planning and implementation, including developing and implementing proactive as well as reactive crisis/issues management response plans.
- Strong, dynamic leadership, decision-making and strategic positioning skills that complement exceptional business acumen.
- Strategic thinker with experience in managing crises and handling sensitive issues that require confidentiality and care.
- Experience working with executives and senior-level leadership.
- Ability to provide calm leadership and counsel to team, colleagues and senior leadership.
